Last Saturday, April 1, 2017 Iñaki performed in Madrid his presentation-performance of machines and instruments Dio3stu. Updating the set made in Galicia Maker Faire and RadicalDB Showcase.
The event was
held at the Italian Embassy in Madrid, on the occasion of the
presentation of works by groups of Spanish and Italian makers working
under the project The Fab Linkage.

Dio3stu in RadicalDb Showcase
On February 17 and 18, 2017 we were like Dio3stu in Etopía, Zaragoza, in Radicaldb Showcase
On Friday the 17th, Iñaki presented various sound devices, told us how they were built and how they work. Here we leave a video of the presentation-performance:
On Saturday 18 we installed a new version of the piece "Alimentación sónica" with three devices.

Dio3stu's performance in Maker Faire Galicia
On Saturday, 1st of October , at 16:00 p.m. we will perform at Maker Faire Galicia as Dio3stu.Our presentation/performance will consist in explain what is the circuit bending and show the operation of different machines made with this technique.
Circuit-bending is a type of electronic art that bases its procedures on the creative short-circuit. This art form represents a catalytic force in the exploration of sound material capable of creating new musical forms at an unknown speed. This technique is undoubtedly the simplest way of designing instruments, sculptures or electronic installations.
The approximate duration is 1 hour, and we will articulate it in 3 parts.
The first part is didactic, we explain basically the circuit bending technique
The second part is to invite a small group of people from the public to interact with different machines, guiding them to explore its possibilities openly and intuitively. We will mount a "tactile shepherd" on the spot, a device that consists of several strings that, when you play them, or touch the people who are playing them, produce sounds. It is what we call "body-contact", processes in which our body acts as variable resistance. We will also invite volunteers to relate to other types of variable resistances such as photosensitive cells.
The third part is musical and consists of playing three or four pieces / songs with different devices, instruments and machines of Dio3stu.
Current state of our machines
We still working with two Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook, from 2007 and 2009.
As for the software there is an insurmountable obstacle that is the update of the operating system.
On the computer on which we wrote this, it is no longer possible to install a version 10.8 of the MacOSx system, so we can not install many programs and updates.
For the moment, with the arrangements we have made, we are pulling without problems, we edit audiovisual, surf the internet, do graphic design and layout.
As for the hardware we have had to repair several parts and components:
A fan. The Inverter cable, which feeds the screen. Twice the UpperCase Cable, which connects the keyboard to the motherboard. All these cables have cost between € 4 and € 20.
We have also changed hard drives for new SSDs.
In this last repair of the UpperCase Cable we have taken advantage of to do a keyboard tuning, thanks to the piece given to us by our colleague Pablinho.
Recycling always!

Core of Glitchtrito Gijón.
The section of Dio3Stu Spain formed by Julián Pérez, Vanesa Castro e Iñaki López have presented the core of Glitchtrito Gijón to Beca de producción DKV Seguros - Álvarez Margaride in Laboral Centro de arte y creación industrial.

Dio3stu installations, circuit bending in nature.
From Dio3stu we are preparing 5 pieces to install them at Illa das Esculturas (Island of Sculptures) in Pontevedra. They are circuit bending machines that are inserted into trees and natural places in the sound walk that runs beside river Lérez.
