On Saturday, 1st of October , at 16:00 p.m. we will perform at Maker Faire Galicia as Dio3stu.
Our presentation/performance will consist in explain what is the circuit bending and show the operation of different machines made with this technique.
Circuit-bending is a type of electronic art that bases its procedures on the creative short-circuit. This
art form represents a catalytic force in the exploration of sound
material capable of creating new musical forms at an unknown speed. This technique is undoubtedly the simplest way of designing instruments, sculptures or electronic installations.
The approximate duration is 1 hour, and we will articulate it in 3 parts.
The first part is didactic, we explain basically the circuit bending technique
The second part is to invite a small group of people from the public to interact with different machines, guiding them to explore its possibilities openly and intuitively. We will mount a "tactile shepherd" on the spot, a device that consists of several strings that, when you play them, or touch the people who are playing them, produce sounds. It is what we call "body-contact", processes in which our body acts as variable resistance. We will also invite volunteers to relate to other types of variable resistances such as photosensitive cells.
The
third part is musical and consists of playing three or four pieces /
songs with different devices, instruments and machines of Dio3stu.
