Digital tools for networking

We were sharing our knowledge about digital tools for networking.
It was in the "Course of university expert in Cultural Mangement" of the USC _Universidade de Santiago de Compostela.
We already gave this workshop in the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, so we have updated and improved it.
The contents we address are:
_ Basic operation on some digital tools.
_ Guidelines for forming and articulating a working group.
_ Methodologies of online and offline meetings.
_ Guidelines for decision-making.
_ Group crisis management.
In this document you can see the minutes of the class that was taken jointly between students and teachers.
On October 29, we will do this workshop again in A Coruña, within the activities of CoruñaDixital. It is free and some places are open.

Node of Galician initiatives #decrece2016
The node of Galician initiatives is an activity framed within the Encuentro Transición Decrecimiento 2016 that will be celebrate in Betanzos during the days 29, 30 and 31 of October.
All the info and registrations at https://transiciondecrecimiento2016.wordpress.com/
This node or workgroup intends to group people of Galician initiatives related to the transition and to the decrease in the broadest sense. The objectives are: to know and place each other. To share knowledge and experiences, problems and solutions, failures and sucesses. And to strengthen and to hatch networks of initiatives.
The dynamics that we want to implement are:
1) Presentation and mapping of local initiatives.
Each participant will present itself (sucesses and failures) and will be mapped saying "what he knows how to do /what he wants to learn".
2) Problems and solutions. Dynamic in that we will play to find problems or common concerns and possible solutions.
3) To activate a possible time bank, possible collaborations and network projects. To activate calendars for winter activities.
4) Presentation of results to the rest of the meeting participants. (10 minutes)
We have to ride between all!
Confirm your attendance and bring things.
RuralC at the II Encuentro Cultura y Ciudadanía
During the days 13 and 14 of October 2016 we were in the II Encuentro Cultura Ciudadanía
In 2016 the the Meeting focuses on a polyhedral reality, with multiple semantic drifts: the TERRITORY. This necessarily includes the sphere of the local, but it also implies a relational dimension that emphasizes the exchanges, negotiations, intersections and flows that occur or strike in a given cultural space. Beyond the city or municipality, culture is also expressed through spaces of encounter and fabrics of relationships that surpass and transcend the strictly local. Peers as center-periphery, global-local or urban-rural reject any absolute or antagonistic character, and appear rather as ambiguous and polysemic realities, in constant redefinition, based not so much on defining attributes as on relations and processes. Territory is also a flexible reality in spatial and symbolic terms, which can be expanded or contracted according to specific moments, circumstances and interests.
The meeting was articulated as a dynamic forum with presentations and interventions of 10/15 minutes of about 200 projects. Also themed tables and performances. Our presentation was inside the table Rural Urban Dialogues, Global Local, moderated by Fernando Bayona. We told the origins of the RuralC association and some of the projects we have development, contributing our vision of how we think culture could help to face the challenges that are presented to the rural.
Here we leave the slide of our presentation:
We also leave you some of the notes, tweets and projects presented:
Notes/tweets:
_ Facilitate processes and not events. (Alfredo _Fundación Cerezales)
_ Understand rural times and work from the rural.
_ That the state guarantees the autonomy of the commons. (Lucas_Zemos98)
_ To understand the playful way of making a city.
_ Making objects as an excuse to make community.
_ Social challenges from scientific questions (@CCiutadana)

They have been consolidated as a space in which to recover the popular spirit of the fallas, giving life to the squares, the solar (through the Xunta Solar Fallera) and the networks. During his presentation he reminded us how National Catholicism instrumented these popular festivals of a critical nature, such as the left and the libertarian movements reneged during decades of this party that belonged to them, and how gradually the self-management of the feast is recovered from the communities and outside of institutions and multinationals.
Alberto presented us El recetario a platform that freely shares documentation and manuals on constructive solutions for Habitat from Waste (Hábitat a partir de Residuos).
Fernando presented us the Festival de Video Creative Commons, A festival that has been replicated by different cities, and that you can also copy. It began with the Creative Commons licenses and has become a space for dialogue, knowledge and defense of Free Culture and audiovisual as a tool for criticism and transformation of our environment.
María Lobo and Roi presented us Rec Think. A web-doc with young people from rural areas in process of depopulation in four European countries. It seeks to involve them in a process to re-think and redefine their role in the future of these localities. Participatory video is the methodology used.
They release the code of all their methodology, offering Guides on the implementation of innovative strategies that promote the participation of young people in rural environments, on Participatory Video or on the promotion of transversal competences in rural environments.

Presentation of our Hibrilaldiak process in Donostia 2016.
On the 17 of December 2015 we were presenting our experience in Hibrilaldiak process with Ermua Mugi! (EM!) at headquarters of Donostia2016, with other 5 projects:
Algaraklown + Economistas sin fronteras,
Bagera Donostiako Euskalzaleen Elkartea + Bigara,
Ermua Mugi! + FurAlleFalle,
Hasiera + Zaramari,
Ikasteam + Vivero de iniciativas ciudadanas,
Osakidetza OSI EEC + AATOMIC LAB
In our presentation we showed the following PDF:
You can read the full script of the presentation in http://titanpad.com/conclusiones-ermuamugi
Extract from the script:
Learning:
1 - Find and define what are the profiles who we will lead with our proposal.
2 - Be clear we must make a prototype that can be replicated and scaled openly.
3 - Further pressure. Don´t try to change structural things, but to raise devices or actions that fit the existing dynamics.
Up to now, so far we have achieved:
1 - We have made a number of concrete proposals as a bank of ideas to boost EM!
in https://titanpad.com/ermuamugi
2 - We have made a Young Map of ErmuaMugi!
This mapping has connected this group of young people with dynamics of Ermua Mugi!, valuing habits related to EM! and becoming aware of the places and healthy activities they are already practicing.
3 - We have connected youth from Ermua with strategy of ErmuaMugi! and their three axes, encouraging them to propose activities and events.
We think they've understood that ErmuaMugi! are they in every daily walk.
4 - In addition, San Pelayo school in Ermua, with which we have worked, will be part of next Hibrilaldiak.

Mapping Ermua Mugi!
We were very well received by the principal and the teacher, who knew the dynamics that we were going to outline and consider in relation to Ermua Mugi! strategy, so they were delighted to participate.
In this school students are used to work in collaboratives groups of five or six people, often working with digital devices.
We invited them to participate in a mapping dynamic. Each group had a map of Ermua, a device (computer) to point the map legend, colorful stickers and markers.
We explained them that they could map places or actions outside the usual or established places for it. For example, a picnic in any place different to a picnic area, play football in the street, etc.
They had to map in the public space following kind of places in relation to the 3 axes of Ermua Mugi!:
Emotional health:
1- a place to sunbath.
2- a place to think or study.
3- a place to go when you're sad.
4- a place to sit and talk. When it rains and when it does not rain.
Healthy food:
5- a place for picnic. When it rains and when it does not rain.
6- a place with fountain.
7- a place to buy a healthy snack.
8- a place to "collect" (not on private property). Fish, pick mushrooms, wild plants, etc.
Physical exercise:
9- a route/walk.
10- places to do something like a sport (jump, races, swim, run, score a basket, play penalties, etc.) involving physical exercise. An example, stepping backwards on escalators. Scooter descents on a downhill street, etc.
11- where do you play?
Some groups also sent us photos of the places marked on the map.
You can see the result on this map:
(please click on the icon in the upper left corner to see the legends, in the top right for full screen)
(please click on the icon in the upper left corner to see the legends, in the top right for full screen)
Conclusions obtained with the map:
Emotional Health
They appreciate and frequent nature and quiet places.
They usually frequent them for a walk, to talk, eat something, or when they are sad or thoughtful.
Basagatz, closer, and Errekalde, where there is a pool and a natural environment, and also Urko, stands out.
It's curious that someone marked the train station as a place to go if you are sad, because from there you can take a train to Deva and arrive to the beach.
"Abandoned Places" They frequent the park-like unfinished Betiondo Park, for its height, peaceful, and because it is a sunny place.
The main urban meeting place is Goiko Plaza, is centrally located, they can play, talk and be protected from rain.
SkatePark environment also stands out. It's used as a place for sports, talk, sunbathing. And they go to the area behind the tank to be quiet, for a picnic or walk.
Physical exercise
They use urban unconditioned spaces to play customed sports:
Football-raquetball, handball in interior squares of buildings, climb trees..
They use Betiondo parking as circuit for bikes and skate.
They also use public sport installations, soccer fields and especially the ping pong tables.
They are aware of the exercise done in their daily routes walking. They also frequent routes to walk.
Healthy food:
They know where to go to collect chestnuts, fruits, mushrooms and berries.
They know some greengrocers, although many answer the question of where to buy healthy food with sites that sell cold cuts to make you a sandwich.
They use fountains and appreciate water quality.
An interesting idea sources here: "Ermua Mugi y las fuentes!".
We think this mapping has connected this group of young people with dynamics of Ermua Mugi!, valuing healthy habits and becoming aware of the places and healthy activities they are already practicing.
The map shows which are the activities that young people in Ermua practice and where they do, so we can strengthen them or generate new activities and devices in these spaces. For
example, setting up "abandoned places" regarding to the use that people are already doing in them, or generating an activity related to
"climb trees".
It also allow us to conduct a preventive work, for example to monitor the water quality in drinking fountains or the use of glyphosate and other toxic chemicals in places of gathering.

2nd table Ermua Mugi! Hibrilaldiak.
On the Thursday 29 of October we were in the 2nd table Ermua Mugi!
As we explained in a previous post we´re working as "different" within Hibrilaldiak's processes.
On this phase we were listening and compiling ideas of everyone connected to EM! and of people related to the project. We had to tune to see what actions or devices we could perform to achieve the proposed challenges:
"Desviejunizar" Ermua Mugi, to be associated with more people, non only older people.
Spread the message of adopt active lifestyles.
Configure the urban as a sport place.
All ideas and proposals were collected in pad/documento colaborativo, leaving a bank of ideas for future revisions.
During 2nd table we approve unanimously to make the action "Mapear ErmuaMugi!" which will be a mapping of public spaces of Ermua made by their young people.
They will map places related with the 3 axes of their strategy: emotional health, physical exercise and healthy food.
We´re working the proposal on this pad.
This map will serve to indicate customs and practices that are exercised in Ermua as "healthy" city in a broad sense. With this map we will be better able to design events that involve and motivate young ermuarras. It can also help to design the space of the city around its uses, and thus respond to certain needs.
We leave you some pictures of Ermua we have done under the 3 axes of action ErmuaMugi!

This is a series of workshops called "Project of creative development" which involves making workshops given by professional artists in schools and colleges.
These workshops for children and youth in rural of Galicia, adress creativity as an esential tool for innovation and sustainable development.
Coordinated by Juan Lesta and Belén Montero, Esferobite.
On the 13 and the 14 of October we were in CEIP Os Casais in Maniños, in the City Council of Fene.
We gave a workshop of collective creation for children of 4º and 6º grade of primary, in which kids had to experience the collective authorship while learn various artistic techniques such as collage, dripping, punching, the notion of weft and various multidisciplinary tricks.

Starting with our experience as "different" in Hibrilaldiak
Today we started our experience as "different" in the Hibrilaldiak process.
Hibrilaldiak are hybridisation processes to face a challenge identified by an association, a company or a group of people, with the aid of professionals with an "improbable" profile.
Any collective of people who want to face up to a need in any field can be hibriltari. There is a combination of points of view that respond to previously identified challenges with the idea of joining forces.
This work system, which aims to respond to the wish for transformation through the help of professionals with profiles different to that of the group presenting the challenge, was set up for the first time in the year 2014 by Donostia-San Sebastian 2016, with the methodological support and monitoring of c2+i/Conexiones improbables.
A Hibrilaldi is not a normal citizen participation process. Antinatural connections are made between the group of people who want to face a challenge and between professionals with improbable profiles. These profiles are called "different" and contribute plurality and another point of view to the group.

Our challenge is to visualize and energize Ermua Mugi!
Ermua Mugi! is the local community strategy promoted by Ayuntamiento de Ermua in 2012 for the effective and equitable incorporation of physical exercise, healthy food and emotional health as a lifestyle for all citizens. Formed by local community workers working in network and with prescription of physical activity as a tool, it aims to move to cause a change that normalize the habit of physical activity and healthy food, increase people with active lifestyle and reduce the number of sedentary people.
So we'll work with a team of 15 people with various profiles, including sociocultural workers, an architect, a nutritionist, sports technicians and workers of health department of the Basque government.
And we will tell you more things as the process proceeds.
